Marbella – Queen of Clubs

BRIGHT.
Welcome to Fabulous Marbella Spain

One of the hottest venues in Europe for over half a century, Marbella still has that certain something and continues to attract both the seriously rich and genuinely famous, as well as a smattering of European nobility, Arabian royalty and a plethora of TV celebs, models and sports stars. Marbella has come a long way since the impromptu nights at the iconic Marbella Club Hotel in the 60s saw stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Bridget Bardot and Sean Connery get “groovy” and let their hair down. The past decade has also seen the definition of celebrity change, and you’ll also find reality TV stars, Instagram models and “influencers”, as well as wannabies and has-beens, all out for a good time.

La Suite Marbella

Times may have changed, but A-list celebrities still flock to Marbella to party. La Suite Marbella, located in the Puente Romano Hotel, mixes a retro Manhattan Studio 54 vibe with Marbella style for a sophisticated VIP crowd. Victoria’s Secret supermodel Adriana Lima and tennis star Novak Djokovic are among the celebrities spotted recently at La Suite keeping the vibe alive and look out for Dilly, a genuine Marbella nightlife legend, with his own indomitable style and the biggest hair in Marbella!

Olivia Valere

Possibly the best-known club in Marbella, Olivia Valere sits just off the Golden Mile, a champagne cork’s pop from the Hotel Puente Romano where Olivia Valere herself ran Regine’s, the most famous nightclub in Marbella in the 80s. Resembling an Arabian fort from the outside, inside the club is the setting for a clubbing adventure out of 1001 Nights. “Visiting Marbella and not coming to my club, is like visiting Rome and not going to the Vatican,” she once famously declared. Prince, Mariah Carey, Naomi Campbell, Bruce Willis and Enrique Iglesias have all partied at this famous venue, where the music caters for the Euro-trendy crowd.

Pangea

Located by the tower in Puerto Banús, overlooking the super yachts and supercars of the seriously wealthy, Pangea is easily one of the most glamourous locations in Marbella. The roof terrace offers you a luxurious clubbing experience like no other, with panoramic nighttime views over the marina. Pangea has been one of legendary party promoters Sintillate’s most iconic venues for over a decade and it’s easy to see why. A heady combination of great music, a stylish party crowd and visiting celebrities enjoying a little down time away from the paparazzi – including Flo Rida, Jay Kay, Craig David and Jess Glynn  – combine to make Pangea a “must do” for any Marbella clubber.

Mirage

Right at the entrance to Puerto Banús, you can’t miss Mirage. It may only have been open since 2017, but from the very start Mirage’s mission was “to be the very best”. Bringing Las Vegas glamour combined with the excitement of Ibiza, Mirage’s seductive interior mixes black and gold throughout. It’s not just about the sexy setting, however. Mirage boasts a state-of-the-art Funktion One sound system that delivers an incredible audio experience and has attracted some of most in-demand DJs on the international scene. A retractable acoustic glass wall separates the main club area from the elegant VIP club-lounge, but when the night demands it, Mirage transforms into a super club, complete with 40 VIP tables and a gold rock pool/Jacuzzi table. Mirage regularly hosts nights with, among others, Kinky Malinki, Candypants and the Colin Francis Project.

Momento

Certainly the most distinctive club in Marbella, Momento, located on the Golden Mile, resembles a cross between an ancient temple and a recently landed stealth spaceship. Inside the club features several distinct areas, including an enclosed patio and an always-packed main dance space. This season’s closing party featured the great Bob Sinclair and other international acts in 2019 included Erick Morillo and Black Coffee. Regular events such as Urbano and Miente continue to attract a stylishly Boho crowd.

Mosh

It is safe to say that Mosh has taken Marbella by storm. This stylish restaurant, bar and club combination has become one of the highlights of the “Aloha Strip” – the growing collection of ‘on point’ bars and restaurants in Nueva Andalucía. With a motto of “Eat, Drink, Party, Repeat”, Mosh has introduced the concept of “Fun Kitchen” to Marbella. Combining live music events along with DJs – including the always-entertaining Chris Wallem – Mosh is extremely popular with both young locals and visitors. With a policy of “Mosh Made Me Do It”, don’t be surprised if you find yourself dancing on the tables!

News Café

Another hugely popular venue in Puerto Banús, News Café pulls off the rather neat trick of bar and club combination. Located on the front line of the marina, the main upstairs area has a small but perfectly formed dance floor and a DJ booth that regularly features the considerable talents of rising star and local hero DJ Scott Strutton. “The best view of heaven is from hell” blazes merrily down from the neon above one of the News Café’s stylish seating areas and, if truth be told, the venue has seen more than its fair share of devilish behaviour! Long queues in the summer are proof of its popularity, however, especially among a young and glammed-up crowd.

TIBU

One of the highest-profile and best-known nightclubs in Puerto Banús, TIBU continues to attract a young and lively party crowd.  Extremely popular with tourists as well as locals, TIBU is part of the massively successful group that also owns the legendary Linekers Bar on the second line. If you really want to make a night of it, TIBU offers one of the best club dinning experiences on its rooftop restaurant. The large outside terrace is perfect for summer partying under the stars, while the inside club has been the scene for some epic evenings with some of hottest DJs and promoters in town, as well as live performances from Professor Green and So Solid Crew that have gone down in Banús folklore!

Funky Buddha

On the site of what was once the ultra stylish, beautiful Art Deco club La Notte – now long gone and much missed, where moonlit mischief took place in the club’s gardens – Funky Buddha is massively popular with the Spanish crowd. The gardens have long gone and have instead been replaced with soundproofed conservatories that let Funky Buddha play the sounds loud (often to the chagrin of the nearby luxury urbanizations). It’s the sort of packed venue where the waiters work their way through the throng with huge bottles of premium vodka or champagne adorned with sparklers. The music is predominantly R&B, and Funky Buddha has also seen packed PA’s from superstars including 50 Cent and Pharrel. If you like your clubs loud and just the right side of crazy, then Funky Buddha is a must!
